Colossal Fungi

Photo from the Mary M. Dargatz collection. An unknown woman is harvesting mushrooms. She is holding two enormous mushrooms! She is most certainly on the Herman Dargatz farm in Millet, Alberta, Canada in the early 1920’s. The woman is probably one of Mary’s sisters. Mary had five sisters living at the time. If you look closely to the right of the woman a man in overalls is standing a little behind her in the shadows of a tree. He is almost hidden!

I can’t get over how huge are those mushrooms!
