Dargatz Man Unknown

This photograph is from the Mary M. Dargatz collection. There is an unknown male standing in front of an early car from the 1910s. The location is probably in Alberta, Canada. The German Dargatz family of Millet, Alberta, Canada immigrated to Canada from the area around Poland in 1895. Herman Dargatz (Mary’s father) was born in Pomerania along the Baltic Sea and her mother Amelia Klukas was from what is now Ukraine.

What I like about this picture is that it gives a look at men’s fashion during the period. The man is wearing a three-piece suit with possibly a turtleneck underneath, dark heavy boots, and on his head is a fisherman’s style cap.

I am not sure about the make and model of the car.

If you can identify the man standing in front of the car or the car. Please leave a comment below.

Thank you for reading.
