50th Anniversary
The 50th Wedding Anniversary of Lovell Birmeier and Lila Richards. An interesting note, this was the first time the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary. In 1925 while they were away for the weekend in Deadwood, South Dakota getting married, Lila’s mother (Elizabeth Hodges) passed away after being ill. Lila was reluctant to leave her sick mother. However, her mother persuaded her to go and marry the man she loved.

Tombstone Tuesday: Elizabeth Hodges Richards

Elizabeth Hodges Richards, born 17 Oct 1875 in Kentucky, was the daughter of Thomas Fielding Hodges and Mary Emmaline Seaton. Elizabeth married Franklin Hodges son of Jonathan Hodges and had a family of ten children. She died at the age of 49 on 27 May 1925 in Powell, Park County, Wyoming.
