Gordon Ferdinand Welke

Gordon Ferdinand Welke was the son of Ferdinand Welke and Mary M. Dargatz. He was born 24 January 1931 in Millet, Alberta, Canada. As it is written on the photograph this picture was taken in April 1950 probably in Alberta. Later in that same year, Gordon crossed the border into the United States.

Lowe Family Portrait: George J. Lowe and his wife Jemima Jane Colbaugh. I am not sure of the year this portrait was taken or who the two boys are standing. I suspect they are the taller boy is Stephen Kitzmiller Lowe and the shorter one is Grant Joseph Lowe.

Faybelle Bowen and William Roscoe Campbell

Faybelle Bowen was the daughter of William Booker Bowen and Ada Evelyn Smith. She was born 6 Nov 1898 in Denton, Texas. William Roscoe Campbell was the son of William T. Campbell and Elizabeth E. Moore. He was born 1 May 1895 in Texas. William and Faybelle were married 10 February 1918. They look so young in the picture. William was 22 years old and Faybelle was 19 years old.

Edgar Clarence Morgan

Edgar Clarence Morgan was the son of James Allen Morgan and Sarah Elizabeth Belisle. He was born on 12 Mar 1888 in Tharpe, Tennessee. Edgar married twice. First, he married Alberta L. Winthrop in 1914. Later in life he married Dell L. Lawrence. Edgar passed away 13 April 1975 in St. Helena, California.

Mary Magdalena Dargatz

Mary Magdalena Dargatz was the daughter of Herman F. Dargatz and Amelia Klukas. She was born on 21 Jul 1904 in Millet, Alberta, Canada. At the age of nineteen, Mary married Polish immigrant Ferdinand Welke. Together they had six children. Mary passed away on 30 May 1986 in Cle Elum, Washington.

Mark Moreland Evans

Mark Moreland Evans was the son of William Manson Evans and Mary Belle Moreland. He was born on 7 Nov 1917 in Los Angeles, California. He married Louise Juliette Flanders in 1945 in Burbank, California. He had three sons. Mark passed away on 26 Nov 1982 in Los Angeles. According to his World War II Draft papers, Mark was 5’10” with brown hair and blue eyes.

Arthur Lovell Birmeier


When Arthur Lovell Birmeier was born on June 10, 1898, in Tilden, Nebraska, his father, Frank G. Birmeier, was 24 and his mother, Jennie Violet Hunt, was 22. Arthur served in the United States Navy during World War I and World War II. He married Lila Ellen Richards on May 27, 1925, in Deadwood, South Dakota. He died on January 15, 1983, in San Joaquin, California, at the age of 84, and was buried in Lodi, California.
